As an IT Assistant at Torpedo your role is critical in helping clients achieve their objectives by supporting the company’s use of IT. As a key part of our infrastructure team providing first class systems support, both hardware and software, you will aid the wider business in wowing our clients and creating innovative solutions that we are proud to put our name to. There would be an expectation to be on site at our office in Cassington (Oxfordshire) a few days a week.
Responsibilities & Duties
Day-to-day administration, support, and maintenance of the internal and client (AWS) infrastructure.
Provide technical advice and guidance for internal IT issues to users for basic issues.
Help trouble-shoot and solve technical issues.
Help ensure that the security of the internal IT systems, network, resources and information is set-up, maintained and tested regularly in line with information security management procedures.
Help provision new desktops, laptops, mobile devices and other IT equipment for new employees or employees changing their roles.
Help Train staff and new starters on their use of the company's IT hardware, software and telephony systems.
Help organise IT equipment to allow quick response to common failures in IT infrastructure or urgent needs.
Track IT assets and help organise recycling or decommissioning of IT equipment as required.
Help maintain and manage secure back-up systems and offsite archiving.
Support the business by helping to administer the ISMS (Information Security Management System part of ISO27001).
Help ensure compliance of the ISMS policies and processes across the business.
Creating and maintaining system documentation where needed.
Prioritise own workload to cope with conflicting demands.
Knowledge of Apple Mac OS and iOS
Knowledge and understanding of Cloud Computing
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Office365, Active Directory and SharePoint
Knowledge of Linux
Knowledge of networks including routing, switching and understanding of networking topology
Excellent troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills. Able to diagnose and fix hardware faults and software issues
Some experience of security related areas such as security monitoring, intrusion preventions, vulnerability scanning, penetration testing etc would be desirable
