Despite the grey and rainy start on Sunday, the sun seemed to know it was the day of the annual Torpedo Summer Party and decided to make an appearance just in time to brighten up the afternoon – making for a fantastic gathering of family and friends.
The party atmosphere got into full swing with an excellent playlist, and there was an exciting range of activities on offer including a multi-player F1 racing simulator, a monster tower of a climbing wall, volleyball, a bouncy castle, face painting, the infamous balloon twister, table tennis and much more to keep the children (and adults!) entertained.
As usual a variety of drinks were available, with hot food from our local Mission Burrito and a wonderful picnic buffet covering savoury options, along with a top-notch pick’n’mix sweets table – a personal favourite of mine (yes, I may have gone back for a second helping!) And if the pick’n’mix wasn’t enough of a sugar hit, the familiar tune of the ice-cream van saw a large queue form within minutes for the most outrageous sweet treats imaginable! I have it on good authority that lots of kids didn’t go to sleep until midnight – obviously looking after the adults who had over indulged.
It was wonderful to see everyone having a great time – special thanks go to the team for organising another successful Torpedo Summer Party. We’re already looking forward to what’s in store for 2024!
