A day in the life of… Ella – an undergraduate on work experience

We recently welcomed Ella – an International Business student in her final year at University – to the Torpedo office for some work experience.

We first met Ella at our Christmas party venue, where she was temping during her break from uni. She made a great impression with her bubbly personality, professional approach and positive attitude – a few cocktails later (us not Ella!), we invited her to contact us if we could help with her learning and career development. A few months later she got in touch and we arranged some work experience. So, what’s it like to be part of a busy B2B Marketing Agency? Here she explains her time with us in her own words:

Doing work experience with Torpedo was a whirlwind of exciting challenges and learning opportunities. Every morning, I joined Lucy, Evie, and Rosie in Client Services for a team meeting to discuss ongoing tasks and set goals for the day. From there, I would work with other members of the team to learn about different aspects of the business, as well their current projects, these included various areas of expertise such as: UX, Copy, Motion, and Digital.

Collaborating with my co-workers was a pleasure since I was continually exposed to their knowledge and creativity, which fuelled my own development. I also had the opportunity to witness how they maintain good client connections and adjust strategies to fit their demands by attending client meetings.

I also had the pleasure of attending a late summer pool party at the office which was a great way to socialise with the team after work!

To summarise, my day in the life of work experience at Torpedo was rewarding, and I am grateful for the opportunity to learn about the company. I learnt so much and had the privilege to work alongside some incredible people. Not only smart but funny too :).
